Online CAOHC Hearing Conservation Certification Courses
Frank Wartinger, Au.D. (Course Director #496199) leads high-quality courses with engaging instruction for occupational health professionals who administer audiometric testing as required by OSHA, MSHA, DOD and FRA regulations. To obtain their COHC certification, Occupational Hearing Conservationists are trained and credentialed through Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) approved courses.

Earmark courses are all-inclusive, so there are no additional costs or fees for standard registration.

Technology Requirements
To participate fully in an online course, each student must have access to the following equipment:
Computer with reliable internet connection and a functional webcam
Hearing protection devices (note: a packet of devices will be shipped out to each registrant 1-2 weeks prior to the course date.)
Otoscope and a willing individual to serve as a stand-in patient for a few minutes during the practicum section (note: there are several work-arounds available if a student is unable to secure an otoscope or stand-in patient. Your instructors will discuss this detail further during the course.)
Access to an audiometer is not required during the course due to the use of online simulators. However, many students report benefit from having access to a physical audiometer device for extended hands-on learning.
Typically, Full Certification courses are held from 9am to 4pm EST and Recertification courses are held from 8am to 4:30pm EST. Individual course agenda and schedules may vary and will be communicated prior to the course.
COHC Certification
Students will receive their COHC certification upon completion of a CAOHC approved course (conducted by a CAOHC certified Course Director) and receiving a passing grade on the computer-based examination at the conclusion of the course. The certification period is five years, at the end of which students are required to complete a re-certification course.

Course FAQs
Question: Is this CAOHC course fully online?
Answer: Yes! We offer entirely online CAOHC courses in which the lecture, practicum, hearing test training, and examination are all completed from your computer from your location.
Question: I prefer hands-on learning. Do you offer an in-person course option?
Answer: Yes! We have select dates marked for Virtual Hybrid courses. These consist of two days of online lecture and discussion, followed by one day of in-person practicum, hearing test training, and examination. The in-person day is hosted in beautiful Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Question: How is the examination completed?
Answer: Fully online. The exam is taken online by each student on their own laptop or computer. The exam proctored (student must remain on camera) and completed during the the final 75 minutes of the Initial Certification course and final 45 minutes of the Recertification course.
Question: I do not live/work in Pennsylvania. Can I take this course?
Answer: Yes! CAOHC courses are valid for attendees from all states and countries, since the C-OHC credential is an internationally recognized credential that does not connect to your state or local license. In fact, Earmark Hearing Conservation has trained individuals from all 50 states and 12 countries to date!
Question: Can we get a bulk discount for registering multiple members of our staff?
Answer: Yes! First, thank you for your continued support and trust in our training programs. We offer bulk discounts for organizations who register large numbers of individuals over a 12 month period. Please inquire to contact@earmarkhc.com regarding your specific situation.
Question: Is this course ADA accessible?
Answer: Yes! COHC candidates are responsible for notifying course directors (CDs) and/or sponsoring organization of any Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related issues with sufficient notice prior to the course date. Proper documentation will be required and discussed on a case-by-case basis.
